Ex-fork

A fork gets melt down and transformed into a regular door key, an exact copy of the artists' house key. This project is a symbolic reconversion of an everyday object into another. A fork is a typically industrial, mass-produced object; While a key would rather exemplify the contemporary individual production of objects.

Having a key copied today is really simple, in just a few minutes you can have a duplicate cut from a standard blank. But Llobet & Pons chose to have it copied the traditional way, that is, using a cast technique, and turning the whole process into a deliberately complicated act of absurdity.
